WELLSPRING OF NOTHING
open up
look inside
do You find
nothing?
nothing right
nothing wrong
I do not feel
strongly
strength is fine
let me be weak
let the world
shape me
I see shapes
I see dear things
every second a
new age
You grow old
You go around
moving fast and
slowly
slam the door
keep it locked
You cannot
block light
light is love
love is all
let it fill your
window
dark is fine
let it rest
let it be
nothing
SUN THROUGH ROOF
sun through dirty windows through
smoke through wasp nest rafters through
pigeon bone roofs
the fly flies but into glass
that only lets sunlight past
the moth long dead
dangles in the abandoned web
on the damp underside
sudden maggots where
the cat was buried
sun through dirty windows through
smoke through wasp nest rafters through
pigeon bone roofs
in the factory the people move
on the grid in an endless loop
the people think and
daydream less each day
the master lets them
know what is enough
whether factories have doors out
things like when I close the door
it slams like it didn't before
DO YOU GO?
it's not what We thought it would be
it's the beginning of what used to be
it's the end of everything we held to be true
and it's not what We held so dear
it's the beginning of a million years
so hold on tight this thing sticks in third gear
when the shadow moves the cloth
see there's nothing there
fractal spiral all direction
did You go?
when the horse that once was young
lays down in the grass and sun
spry new colts go running in the snow
who is there listening
to the frequencies passing
through the space between You and me?
children wait in the dark ice
the school bus rumbles forth
fractal spiral all direction
do You go?
the turning saves a holy day
the sky grey eggs break where they lay
and turtles carry eyes into the waves
what does a universe see
when all breathing has a blink?
bells and birds and drones bark a tree
turning pattern in a sky
nothing will align
fractal spiral all direction
will You go?
THE FUCKHEADS SMASHED MY TV
I was anxious all week
and I learned today that I can't sing
and the classes in poetry
and the privaldge don't mean anything
since the fuckheads smashed my tv
I watched it in saint louis
the news in the evening with my family
I snuck in and watched the fresh prince
when I was six and dad planted tomato seeds
I played nintendo
with grandma's boyfriend's kid
he threw me into the creek
he tried to make me show him my peepee
now We both feel real sorry
since the fuckheads smashed my tv
I first saw You You had on blue jeans
and now that too don't mean anything
if I called You would You talk to me
hi how are You will You marry me?
well four five six and one two three
the fuckheads smashed my tv
ALWAYS FOREVER AND NEVER NOT
when I get off it's a really big job
always forever and never not
amoebas gnash at the horizon
two more is always my limit
if it's a mistake it's mine to make
and if it's pain it's mine to take
everybody's talking about on good thing
without pause cuz talk is cheap
when I get off it's a really big job
pick off the fleas and go to sleep
I fell in right after I jumped in
I threw up and I threw all in
You get so caught up in the light You forget the web
morning remember what You said
horsehead nebula still blazing
shine your shoes for the fat lady
and We stay We stay away from the place
FOUND
what I wanted yesterday
the words for which I couldn't say
has found me wading in the wake
and now it's here to stay
it flows and rusts and follows us
it rides our back and eyes to shut
it disappears in fire burst
only the be reborn
when We speak the same language
it's wine that makes the vinegar
when You're like us fit into the found
it does not remain the same
has one constant of constant change
but when it's here there's no mistake
from movement forms a shape
I keep it in the breaths I take
cool to the touch and yet it burns
sometimes I try to throw it away
with interest it returns
when our spine extends
it receives and transmits
when You're different fit into the found
You walk along the water's edge
You ask for answer and instead
You find the spiral nautilus
and hear the ocean bed
now You have all you need
it belongs to nothing
it's a single seed without
everything does sprout
when We don't know what We don't know
it moves with light on river
when You're like us fit into the found
EVERYTIME
every time
I'm still here
and I breathe
blessing
every bee
makes one drop
of honey
and passes on
a match burns down
to a finger
and a thumb
connected to
the god bone
someone needs
or wants me
so I keep
my self open
every time
I blink my eye
one world close
one world open
I feel
I want to play
a game
with You
a sky blooms
with a light
from a body
to a body
You are
every time
so am I
READ MY LIPS
face
face of snake
beautiful
dangerous snake
in your garden
put
your clothes on
take
your clothes off
and get naked
in your yard
wash
your face
by shave
your face
by sidewalk
walking
well
it cooled down
as the sun went down
You came down
You came down to see me
I came to learn
You changed the ciriculum
You added a syllable to the word that You wrote
make it
We made it You and I him and her
find it
You find it amazing
irritating
when You're getting that booty
that pussy and cock
nothing makes sense out of everything
the evil art
through one good eye
the keebler house lock
the
NATURAL DISASTER
winter brought the freeze
snow held no tracks to show the hunter
the grizzly only sleeps
sometime she'll wake to pull You under
better get ready for the
(folly hit home)
natural disaster
new buds came on the trees
gulls flew north to kill and plunder
they find You on your knees
they find it cute answer with thunder
better get ready for the
(folly hit home)
natural disaster
buzzing misquito wings
in your ear in the heat of summer
You scratch until it bleeds
newborn swarms pulse with hunger
better get ready for the
(folly hit home)
natural disaster
autumn dropped the leaves
You found some twine and made a bundle
You sweep up piles neat
for the wind to send asunder
better get ready for the
(folly hit home)
natural disaster
come on come on
I'm writing a new will
I'm taking in air
I'm waiting on mistake
through the leap year
come on come on
THE OCEAN BED
let all flow through
the ocean bed
touch
what do You feel?
let all flow through
the ocean bed
listen
let every voice be heard
let all flow through
the ocean bed
see
color
let all flow through
the ocean bed
taste
the flavor of water
let all flow through
the ocean bed
smell
the flowers garden
let all flow through
the ocean bed
IS THIS GOODBYE?
I dreamt
You were
leaving
for four hundred
years
into
silence
oh is this goodbye?
if We knew it came so soon
We might've breathed and listened
oh You had all the time
You did a lot of talking
did You ever know a truth?
